In June 2014, a European consortium including the Association of Technopole Brest Iroise won a call for tender launched by the European Commission in November 2013 for assistance in the implementation of the Action Plan Atlantic


The Support Team for the Atlantic Action Plan has been set up by the European Commission in August 2014. It provides guidance and proactive support for public and private organisations, research institutions and universities, institutional and private investors from the Atlantic region wishing to engage in the implementation of the European Atlantic Plan.

The Support Team consists of a network of focal points operating in France, Ireland, Spain, Portugal and the United Kingdom coordinated by a central office based in Brussels.

Gildas Borel, a well-known geographer from Brest also expert in maritime socio-economy is the representative of the French Focal Point.
